Sara Moreira

Born in the Vila Nova de Famalicão, she began her musical studies at the age of 13 at the Escola Profissional e Artística do Vale do Ave, in the viola class of António Pereira and Teresa Correia. She obtained her bachelor’s degree at the University of Minho in the class of Mateusz Stasto, and her master’s degree in performance at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim. She is currently completing a postgraduate degree in orchestral soloist at the same institution, in the class of Hideko Kobayashi.

She was awarded third place at the Paços Premium competition and second place at the Vila Verde music competition in the string trio category. In the 2020/21 academic year she held a scholarship from the GDA Foundation.

She has performed with orchestras in Portugal and abroad, including the Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto/Casa da Música, Orquestra XXI, Orquestra de Câmara Portuguesa, Jovem Orquestra Portuguesa, Orquestra de Guimarães, Orquestra da Costa Atlântica, Orquestra Clássica do Centro, Sinfonietta de Braga, Deutsches Kammerorchester Berlin, Joven Orquesta Nacional de España, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Orchestre de Picardie, Nürnberger Symphoniker, Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks and WDR Sinfonieorchester. She is currently a member of the Orquestra Gulbenkian.
