Miguel Braz Costa

Born in Braga, he began his musical studies at the age of six at the Conservatório de Música Calouste Gulbenkian in Braga, in the cello class of Jorge Ribeiro. He continued his training at the University of Minho in the class of Pavel Gomziakov, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree, and subsequently at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp in the class of Justus Grimm. He has attended masterclasses with Paulo Gaio Lima, Amir Peled, Maria de Macedo and Guy Danel.

He was awarded second place at the Vila Verde music competition in the string trio category.

He has performed with orchestras in Portugal and abroad, including the Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto/Casa da Música, the Orquestra de Guimarães, the Orquestra Clássica de Espinho, the Sinfonietta de Braga and the Antwerpen Camerata.
