Desvendando um Norte Erudito · Cicle I · 2nd Concert

The second concert of the first cycle of Desvendando um Norte Erudito took place on 18 December 2021 at the Auditório da Casa de Esmeriz in Vila Nova de Famalicão — a space that would also serve as the project’s artistic residency venue, making this concert a moment of particular significance for the quartet.

The programme maintained the articulation between canonical repertoire and original creation that defined the cycle: Beethoven’s Quartet Op. 18 No. 4, Galandum by Ana Catarina Barros — a work commissioned by the Quarteto Euterpe as part of this project — and Mendelssohn’s Quartet Op. 13 No. 2, whose expressive intensity and deep dialogue with Beethovenian language brought the programme to a coherent and organic close.
